This is me

More than a decade ago, I said goodbye to financial services and set out on a path to find a place in corporate america where people like me were not only tolerated but celebrated. Instead of continuing to search for it, I've decided to create that safe space on the teams that I lead. In the process, I found what I LOVE to do. Every day, I take on the challenge of making sure that consumers like me mean more than revenue and candidates like me mean more than diversity "credit" for corporations. We are valuable, and as a brand builder with experience working on several billion dollar brands, it's my mission and responsibility to continue to create space for us--in campaigns and boardrooms alike.

Through my work as an experienced marketing executive and social presence as The Millennial Mentor, I help people, brands, and businesses position themselves for massive growth & impact. How you might ask? My philosophy is simple, if you get to the why the what will reveal itself and the how will follow.

 

Technically speaking, I was never supposed to be a marketer. I studied finance in college, and it wasn't until a year into my financial services career that I began to question the brand strategy behind all of the numbers I was analyzing during earnings season. I went on to earn my MBA in Marketing & Sustainable Enterprise​ as well as a Certificate in Non-profit Leadership from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Although I am several years into my marketing career now, I am still hyper-focused on the business impact of marketing efforts.

Don't be fooled, profit is not the only thing that matters. The how is also critical! For this reason, I intentionally challenge myself to diversify both campaign talent and marketing talent at any organization I work with. I am also a huge advocate for content creators of color. Outside of work, I serve as an Advisory Board Member of the Gwen Ifill School for Media, Arts, and Humanities at my alma mater Simmons University and on the Alumni Leadership Council for the Forté Foundation.
